OUR STORY
Eat Kyoto began as a collaboration between friends and local businesses in 2017. With a simple vision of bringing people together through food, the company was founded in a cozy kitchen in Higashiyama
As word spread and enthusiasm grew, our classes gained in popularity and in a few short years we had become one of the most popular cooking experiences in Japan with coverage in local, national and even international press.
Unfortunately we lost our business in the pandemic as well as our shop, our hardware and all of our staff. The loss was a little too much to bear and the whole enterprise was mothballed.
In mid 2025 however, a reunion of sorts, as well as a new team-member opened the door to the possibility of reopening our school, so we decided to go for it!
We spent the rest of 2025 reminding ourselves how to make our miso broth, as well as updating our menus, reassembling our team and most importantly finding a venue for our new kitchen.
Though it has taken many years to rediscover the magic of those early years. Eat Kyoto is now back and ready to welcome budding chefs from around the world for food, drinks, chats laughs and fun!
